Let’s be frank, a bob cut will never go out of style and it’s always evolving. Looking to update yours? A graduated undercut bob is a new trendy way to wear your favorite haircut! Aside from being a little edgier, it actually has a lot more advantages than you think. It not only takes out the weight and is easier to style, but also prolongs your hairstyle, delaying the next salon visit.
There are so many ways to wear an undercut stacked bob and personalize it to each individual’s needs. Choose from the best options.
1. Low Maintenance Bob with Soft Undercut
This cut looks very polished and you would probably never know that it has an undercut. The goal for this cut is not an edgy, but a practical look. It’s been hard for the client to style her hair, so we softened her hairline (no clippers were used). You can create this look by using a larger round brush and running a flat iron through the ends. This is also a great cut if you feel like you have a round face. Since there are no layers in front, it will elongate your face shape.
2. Short Stacked Bob with Undercut
This look is very subtle as well, but you can definitely see a little peekaboo of the undercut, which is giving it a little edge. Still, the hairstyle is rather slightly polished and has more of an A line look. The graduation goes up a little bit higher and back. And add a lot more volume as you see fit. I styled this haircut with a smaller round brush to add a more volume.
3. Stacked Chin Length Bob with Soft Undercut
I love this look. This is a shorter bob with lots of texture. The undercut is not shaved, more of a soft one, and it’s higher, so it gives more of an angled bob look. The undercut is personalized to the head shape and flows very well with the A line cut. I also love this haircut because it gives the look of being asymmetric. I love the length in the front that sits right at her jawline. Besides, you can switch the fringe to both sides if you want more of a versatile look. For a night out, this cut will look super cute with a loose wave, and feel free to use all of the accessories!
4. Undercut Graduated Bob for Thick Hair
So, when you think of an undercut bob, this is the haircut that sticks out to most people. Using the clipper and shaving the underneath to eliminate extra weight makes your hair so much easier to style! This also has a little bit of a peekaboo hairline, so it would be great with an undercut design. I would recommend this haircut for someone who has very thick hair
5. Combo of Classic and Edgy
So, with this look, you would have no idea that the girl has the whole underneath of her hair shaved. You can style this stacked cut curly or straight, or create a cute braid or twists to show off the undercut. With hair underneath gone, it’s very easy to get a curling iron look.
I love that you have the versatility to also put some hair behind your ear and show a little peek a boo too. Needless to say, the look will completely change from a conservative to edgy once you put hair up in a ponytail.
6. Undercut Stacked Bob Updo
This right here is a little example that you don’t need long hair to have a beautiful style. This undercut bob has been styled with a cute braid, lots of accessories, and a lot of personality. I love this unique look!
7. Bob with Undercut Hair Tattoo
This is one of my favorite and unique ideas for an undercut. Cute little ideas like this will definitely make your hair a statement piece! Not every hairdresser or barber knows how to do hair designs, so make sure and get online and find someone who is qualified. These cute, fun little designs will last about 2 to 3 weeks, depending on how fast your hair grows.
8. Undercut Stacked Bob with Tousled Styling
This is a look that I would recommend for someone who has very thick hair. This hairstyle can be achieved with a curling iron, but you can also straighten your hair out and achieve a blunt bob look. I love the versatility of this haircut! One of the best things is switch bangs, meaning you could go either way with your part. Styled with part in the middle will make your hair look completely symmetric, but hair parted to the side will get you a completely different asymmetrical look. If you have a lot of hair and don’t like the “mushroom” look with your Bob I strongly suggest undercut A bob like this.
9. Undercut Pixie Bob
My absolute favorite out of all the looks, this haircut has so much versatility, starting with the fringe area that you can part either way. It takes out a lot of weight from around the ear area, which makes it look so much more edgy.
You can pair this with a really nice fade underneath, and a hair design would be amazing too. This is definitely a get-up-and-go type of haircut. You can wear it straight or curly; apply hair pomade, and you step it up a notch.
10. Long Angled Bob with a Hidden Undercut
This long bob hides an undercut at the back, clipped to achieve lightness and ease of maintenance. If you are new to shorter cuts, a dramatic asymmetry like this will help you keep that longer tresses look while removing the bulk. You can also instantly go shorter by bringing long front layers to the back and styling a nice half up half down hairstyle.
I do want to note that not every undercut has to be done with a clipper. And you do not need thick hair to have an undercut. And yes, you can have a round face shape.
Take your time and do some research finding a short hair specialist near you, someone who can personalize and tailor you’re undercut bob to fit you and your lifestyle.
